Days 17-20: Stockholm & Helsinki
Week 1 – Denmark
Days 1-3: Copenhagen
You’ll arrive in Copenhagen and be greeted by your private guide who can collect you from the airport or your accommodation. You’ll spend the next 3 days in Copenhagen, seeing the city’s best attractions. Take a guided canal tour of Nyhavn Harbor, passing the city’s most famous landmarks. Enjoy guided tours of Christiansborg Palace, the National Museum, and Rosenborg Castle. Explore the beautiful Tivoli Gardens and the innovative Designmuseum before seeing the famous Little Mermaid Statue. No trip to Copenhagen is complete without seeing Amalienborg Palace, the official residence of the Danish Royal Family. Your private guide will be with you every step of the way, ensuring you see the best the city offers.
Days 4-5: Odense & Aarhus
You’ll depart Copenhagen with your private guide, taking you to the charming town of Odense. Explore Hans Christian Andersen’s childhood home and learn about the author’s upbringing in Odense.
On day 5, you’ll head to Aarhus, a beautiful coastal city and the 2nd largest city in Denmark. Visit ARoS Art Museum and Den Gamle By (The Old Town open-air museum) before exploring the Latin Quarter and spending time in its local cafes and shops.
Days 6-7: Aalborg
You’ll spend the next 2 nights in Aalborg, visiting the Utzon Center and Lindholm Høje Viking burial site, before getting to know the city’s vibrant cultural district and scenic waterfront. Aalborg is renowned for its culinary scene, and our tour planners will handpick some of the city’s most exclusive restaurants, based on your tastes.
Week 2 – Norway
Days 8-9: Oslo
On day 8, you’ll cross the border into Norway, taking a ferry to the Norwegian capital city, Oslo. Spend 2 nights in Oslo, with private tour attractions including a luxury cruise of the stunning fjord, and guided tours of Vigeland Park, Akershus Fortress, and the National Museum.
Day 10: Oslo to Geilo
On day 10, relax and enjoy the scenic drive through forested valleys from Oslo to the mountain village of Geilo. Upon arrival, start with a scenic hike (length of hike tailored to your preferences), either a moderate hike up Hallingskarvet Mountain or a leisurely hike with lakeside views. Relax before dinner at a luxury spa, enjoying mountain views after a day of exploration.
Day 11-12: Bergen
Spend 2 days in Bergen, visiting UNESCO World Heritage Site Bryggen Wharf, and riding the Fløibanen Funicular to the top of Mount Fløyen. The highlight of your time here is a luxury fjord cruise of either Mostraumen or Sognefjord, offering breathtaking views.
Day 13: Ålesund
Enjoy the scenic Trollstigen route through breathtaking fjords, valleys, and towering mountains, and plenty of scenic stops along the way to Ålesund. Before dinner, spend the evening exploring the town center and enjoying the Mount Aksla Viewpoint.
Day 14: Geiranger
Day 14 features another scenic drive en route to Geiranger, home to one of Norway’s most treasured fjord destinations. Enjoy a luxury cruise of Geirangerfjord, passing iconic landmarks like the Seven Sisters, the Suitor, and the Bridal Veil.
Week 3 – Norway & Sweden
Day 15: Geiranger
On your 2nd and final day in Gerainger, your guide will take you on a hike where you will enjoy stunning views of the fjord. As with other hikes on this tour, you will never need to walk more than you feel comfortable with, and there are moderate and leisurely trails available.
Day 16: Lillehammer
On your 16th day, you’ll head to the scenic town of Lillehammer. Break up the drive with a stop in Lom village, enjoying a coffee break and visiting Lom Stave Church, one of the finest medieval churches in Norway. In Lillehammer, enjoy a guided tour of Maihaugen Open-Air Museum, Lysgårdsbakkene Ski Jump & Olympic Park, the venue of the 1994 Winter Olympics.
Days 17-20: Stockholm & Helsinki
Spend days 17 and 18 in the Swedish capital of Stockholm. Visit the enchanting Gamla Stan district, take a guided tour of the Royal Palace, and visit the cultural heart of Stockholm on the scenic Djurgården island.
On the evening of your 18th day, you’ll take the overnight ferry to Helsinki, enjoy a luxury night aboard the ship, and arrive in Helsinki in the morning of your 19th day. If you prefer not to take a boat, we can arrange for you to fly to Helsinki instead.
Spend days 19 and 20 enjoying a full city tour in Helsinki. Step inside the historic Helsinki Cathedral, visit the UNSECO-listed Suomenlinna Fortress, and wander through the city’s stylish Design District and Market Square. Relax in the picturesque Esplanade Park before heading to a luxury sauna on the waterfront.
On the evening of your 20th day, you’ll take the overnight ferry back to Stockholm.
Week 4: Sweden & Denmark
Day 21: Stockholm
You’ll have one more day to explore Stockholm, covering any attractions you missed the first time. Embark on a luxury cruise of the Stockholm archipelago. You’ll see breathtaking coastal views, and stop for lunch on one of the tranquil islands, before island hopping for the rest of the day. It’s the perfect way to end your time in Stockholm.
Day 22: Uppsala & Sundsvall
Leave Stockholm and head northward, stopping in the coastal city of Uppsala, where you’ll see the royal burial mounds and the largest church in Scandinavia, Uppsala Cathedral.
Spend the rest of the day in the “Stone City” of Sundsvall. Get to know the city’s history with a guided tour of Sundsvall Museum and then enjoy panoramic views at Norra Berget Cultural Park.
Day 23: Östersund
You’ll leave the coast on day 23 and relax while your private guide takes you through winding forests before the scenic Lake Alsensjön opens up as you approach Östersund.
See Viking artifacts and learn about Sámi culture at the Jamtli Open-Air Museum & History Centre. After that, go “monster hunting”, as you walk along the promenade of Lake Storsjön, said to be the home of the mythical creature “Storsjöodjuret”, otherwise known as the “Swedish Loch Ness Monster”. Maybe a distant cousin of the famous beast from Scotland!
Day 24: Mora
Leaving Östersund, you’ll head south with a quick stop in Sveg, a quiet town where you can visit Härjedalens Fjällmuseum to learn more about Sámi and mountain heritage. Continue to the lakeside town of Mora, starting with a guided tour of the Zorn Museum. The museum is dedicated to Anders Zorn, one of Sweden’s most celebrated painters. Stroll along the peaceful promenade by Lake Siljan before dinner in one of the town’s cozy restaurants.
Day 25: Gothenburg
Set off early on day 25 for a scenic cross-country drive to Gothenburg. Stop for lunch in Karlstad, and enjoy a guided walk along Lake Vänern, Sweden’s largest lake.
Arrive in Gothenburg in the late afternoon. Explore the city center before visiting Haga, one of Gothenburg’s oldest and most picturesque neighborhoods. See the “Lipstick” building at Lilla Bommen harbor, and the rest of the night is your own to explore Sweden’s 2nd largest city.
Day 26: Malmö
On day 26, your private guide will take you to Malmö, a lively city known for a blend of innovative architecture and historic districts. Visit the Renaissance-era Malmöhus Castle, the historic Stortorget main square, and Turning Torso, the tallest building in Scandinavia. Finish up in Västra Hamnen (Western Harbour), walking along the promenade while your guide tells you how this area went from an industrial zone to one of Sweden’s most sustainable urban districts.
Days 27-28: Copenhagen
Drive across the famous Øresund Bridge, an engineering marvel connecting Sweden to Denmark. Get some fantastic coastal views and pictures on your way to Copenhagen, where you’ll spend the final two days of your tour. Spend this time seeing some new attractions, and you also have the choice to revisit things you loved from the start of your tour. Get presents for friends/family or treat yourself on Strøget, Europe’s longest pedestrian shopping street.
Visit one of Copenhagen’s bars on the canal and toast to your final night ahead of a farewell dinner. Your private guide can drop you off at the airport for your flight home.
