The first 2 days of your private tour will be spent seeing the best attractions in Stockholm. Your private guide will collect you from the airport in a luxury executive vehicle and tell you everything to expect from your tour.

You’ll visit the historic Gamla Stan district, the oldest part of Stockholm and often referred to as something out of a fairytale with its medieval streets and enchanting vibe. Enjoy a guided tour of the Royal Palace in Gamla Stan, the home of the Swedish monarchy, where you can walk through the lavish staterooms and feel like royalty! Spend a day on Djurgårdens Island, a scenic island in central Stockholm with the best museums in the city, including the ABBA Museum, Skansen Museum, and Vasa Museum. There’s no better way to finish a Stockholm tour than with a cruise of the stunning archipelago, enjoying breathtaking coastal views, visiting tranquil islands, and swimming in the Baltic Sea.

Your 3rd day will be a day trip from Stockholm to the UNESCO-listed Drottningholm Palace, a private residence of the Swedish royal family. You’ll enjoy a guided tour of the palace, seeing the royal apartments, grand staircase, majestic library, and walking through the beautiful palace gardens. You’ll then finish the day with a boat cruise around Lake Mälaren, while your private guide tells you about the history of the lake, its role in Viking trade, and its ecological importance.

Day 4: Stockholm to Uppsala to Gävle

Depart Stockholm on day 4, with your private guide taking you north towards Uppsala. Enjoy a tour of the city, visiting Gamla Uppsala to see the royal burial mounds, the largest church in Scandinavia at Uppsala Cathedral, and the Linnaean Garden, a beautiful botanical garden.

You’ll then leave Uppsala for a scenic drive through forests and lakes to Gävle, a beautiful coastal city where you’ll spend the night. Before dinner, you’ll enjoy a guided tour of the Swedish Railway Museum, before walking the cobbled streets and wooden houses in the beautiful old town, Gama Gefle.

Day 5 & 6: Gävle to Sundsvall to Höga Kusten (High Coast)

On day 5, enjoy a drive through the Gulf of Bothnia, a stunning route with forested hills, lakes, and sea views, on your way to “The Stone City”, Sundsvall. Walk through Stensan, see the stone buildings, and learn how the city recovered from the largest fire in Sweden’s history. Head to Kulturmagasinet and explore the cultural hub with art exhibitions and renowned museums such as the City Museum. Finish at Norrag Berget (North Mountain), where you’ll get incredible views of Sundsvall and the coast.

You’ll carry on to the beautiful High Coast, an appropriate name given that it has the highest coastline in the world. You’ll spend the next 2 nights at a lakeside resort while exploring this region. Stop at the viewpoint of the iconic Höga Kusten Bridge, hike or take a cable car along the Skuleberget cliff, and relax at a Nordic Wellness Retreat, enjoying a sauna and spa lodge overlooking the forest or sea.

Day 7: Höga Kusten to Östersund

Leave the High Coast as you begin your journey westward, stopping at Ragunda Valley to see one of Sweden’s most unique landmarks, the King Chulalongkorn Memorial. Carry on to Östersund, a picturesque city on the shores of Lake Storsjön. Spend the afternoon with reindeer, as you visit a reindeer farm, learning about herding traditions and even the chance to feed them! Once the reindeer are fed, it’s your turn as you head to dinner at a stunning restaurant overlooking the lake.

Day 8: Östersund to Trondheim

Depart Östersund and enjoy scenic stops before you cross the Norwegian border to Trondheim. Your guide will take you to the best attractions in the historic city, including Nidaros Cathedral, the Old Town Town Bridge, and the Archbishop’s Palace Museum. You’ll also have some free time to explore the city, with recommendations including visiting local artisan shops for unique Norwegian souvenirs, before enjoying dinner at one of Trondheim’s exclusive waterfront restaurants.

Day 9: Trondheim to Atlantic Ocean Road to Kristiansund

Your guide will take you along the Atlantic Ocean Road, which has been honoured as one of the “most beautiful roads in the world”. The stunning road connects the mainland to several islands, and you’ll drive along the ocean on either side of you, and get plenty of photos of this truly surreal experience!

Enjoy lunch along the coast, before arriving in Kristiansund, a unique town spread over four islands.

Days 10 & 11: Geirangerfjord

Spend the next 2 nights in the beautiful village of Geiranger, built beside a sparkling fjord and towering mountains. Enjoy scenic hikes and drives, visit a traditional goat farm, and take a boat tour of the fjord, with your 2 days entirely revolving around getting the most of this breathtaking area.

Day 12: Geiranger to Lom to Lillehammer

You’ll leave the breathtaking Geirangerfjord and arrive in the charming village of Lom. See the wonderfully preserved 12th-century Lom Stave Church, learn about geology at the Fossheim Steinsenter, and try famous rye bread and cinnamon rolls at the Lom Bakery.

Your guide will drive through the Gudbrandsdalen Valley on your way to Killehammer. Spend the evening exploring the small ski town built around Lake Mjøsa, Norway’s largest lake.

Days 13 & 14: Oslo

Your next 2 days will be spent in Oslo, Norway’s vibrant capital. Enjoy a guided tour of the medieval Akershus Fortress before standing outside the majestic Royal Palace. Explore Frogner Park & Vigeland Sculpture Park, the world’s largest sculpture park by a single artist!

You’ll visit two of the city’s most popular museums, such as the Fram Museum, featuring polar expeditions and Arctic exploration, and the Kon-Tiki Museum, dedicated to Thor Heyerdahl’s daring journey across the Pacific. If you’d like to see a show, our tour planners can arrange for you to see a live performance at the Oslo Opera House.

Day 15: Oslo to Gothenburg

On day 15, you will once again return to Sweden as you head towards Gothenburg. To break up the drive, your guide can take you to Strömstad, a charming harbor town. Explore the town and enjoy fika, a Swedish custom that involves enjoying coffee and fresh pastries.

You’ll arrive in Gothenburg in the afternoon and spend the rest of the day getting to know the city. Explore the cobbled streets of Haga, the oldest part of the city, before visiting Gothenburg City Museum, to learn of the city’s Viking roots. Finish your day at one of the city’s most exclusive restaurants before relaxing at your city center hotel.

Day 16: Gothenburg to Malmö

On day 16, your guide takes you south along Sweden’s beautiful west coast. Stop in Halmstad, a seaside town where you can walk along the beach. You’ll carry on to Malmö, a city known for a blend of both modern and well-preserved architecture. Start in the modern district of Västra Hamnen, before seeing the Turning Torso, a twisting building and Scandinavia’s tallest building. From innovative architecture, you’ll head to Gamla Staden, the oldest part of the city, with cobbled streets and colorful historic buildings. Visiting Malmö gives you the perfect blend of innovation and history!

Days 17-19: Copenhagen

Start the morning by crossing the iconic Öresund Bridge that connects Sweden to Denmark. You’ll stay in the Danish capital of Copenhagen for the next 3 nights, seeing the best attractions in the city and surrounding areas.

Days 17 and 18 will be spent exploring Copenhagen. Get to know the city on a boat tour on Nyhavn Canal, passing the Little Mermaid statue, Opera House, and Amalienborg Palace. Buy some presents from family and friends back home as you explore Strøget, one of Europe’s longest shopping pedestrian streets! Visit the Danish Design District with innovative stores and the Danish Design Museum. Feel like royalty once again with a guided tour of Amalienborg Palace, before heading to the nearby Frederik’s Church.

On day 19, you’ll head on a day trip to North Zealand, starting at Helsingør (Elsinore), home of Kronborg Castle, made famous as Elsinore Castle in Shakespeare’s Hamlet. You’ll experience a guided tour of the castle, walking through the royal halls and dungeons, while your guide tells you about its connection to Shakespeare.

Head from one castle to another at Frederiksborg Castle, where you’ll walk through the grand halls and baroque gardens. Return to Copenhagen at dinner time, where you’ll enjoy one final night in the Danish capital.

Day 20: Copenhagen to Stockholm

You could fly from Copenhagen back to your home country, so if that is your preference, we can adapt the itinerary. In this itinerary, you return to Stockholm on day 20, with one final day to explore the Swedish capital ahead of your journey home. Board a morning or early afternoon flight to Stockholm, with a local guide ready to collect you from Stockholm Airport.

Upon arrival, head to a one-of-a-kind attraction on the SkyView at Avicii Arena, named after the famous and beloved Swedish DJ. You ride in a glass gondola, taking you to the top of the arena, the world’s largest spherical building.

Enjoy a final dinner in Stockholm, either returning to a restaurant you loved from the start of your tour, or we can find you somewhere new to experience on your last night.

Day 21: End of Tour

Your private guide can be on hand to drive you to the airport for your flight home. Depending on the time of your flight, you can fit in some final attractions, and we will cater to your final day, depending on the time you have left.
